Privacy notice

Plan Bee helps you find a job: it looks for roles that suit you, helps you write about yourself, and keeps track of your applications. To do that it has to hold some personal information, including your CV. This notice explains, in plain English, what we keep, why, who helps us, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
Plan Bee is run by FRAZZLED PRODUCTIONS LTD (company number 17258540), 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. We are the controller of your personal data and are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (reference ICO:00014322369). What we keep
- Your account: your email address, and when you signed in.
- What you tell us about your search: job titles, places, how far you’d travel, working pattern, salary floor, workload limits, deal-breakers, priorities, industries to favour or avoid, your name if you give it, and an optional home postcode for rough travel distances.
- Your CV and stories: the text of your CV (when you upload a file we read the text and don’t keep the file), the stories you add, and any edits you accept.
- LinkedIn: if you give us your public profile link, we read that public page once when you ask. If you upload LinkedIn’s PDF or paste text, we read that instead. We never sign in to LinkedIn as you and never change anything there.
- Your job search: the jobs we find for you and how they scored, what you marked as interested or not for you, your applications, their status, notes and feedback, and the documents we help you write (tailored CVs, cover letters, answers, interview practice, offer notes).
- Recruiters and companies: recruiters you add, and companies whose careers pages you ask us to watch.
- Job alert emails you forward to us: we read them to pull out the jobs, then keep what we need to show those jobs to you.
- Suggestions you send us through the suggestion box.
- Usage and safety records: how much you’ve used our AI features (to apply fair limits), sign-in attempts (to stop abuse), and error reports when something goes wrong. Our hosting provider also keeps short-lived technical logs such as IP addresses.
Please don’t put sensitive details (such as health, religion or ethnicity) in your CV or notes unless you want them there. If you do, we only use them to do what you ask, like writing a CV that includes them.
Why we use it
- To provide Plan Bee to you (finding and scoring jobs, writing drafts, keeping your tracker): this is necessary for our agreement with you.
- To keep Plan Bee safe, fair and working (usage limits, abuse prevention, fixing problems, working out running costs): our legitimate interests, balanced against yours.
- Optional emails (the morning note about new jobs and a check-in email if you ask for one): your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from your Profile or the link in the email. Sign-in emails are part of providing the service.
AI and automated suggestions
Plan Bee uses Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, to read job adverts, compare them with what you’ve told us, and draft text for you. Scores and suggestions are just that: suggestions. They don’t make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you. You decide what to apply for, and you always send applications yourself. AI can get things wrong, so please check anything before you use it. We tell Claude to use only facts from your own CV and stories and to leave gaps rather than invent anything.
Who helps us
These companies process data for us, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Supabase: our database and sign-in. Your data is stored in London.
- Vercel: hosts the website and runs the app.
- Anthropic: provides Claude, which reads the parts of your profile, CV and job adverts needed for each task. Anthropic doesn’t use this to train its models.
- Resend: sends our emails.
- Cloudflare: receives the job alert emails you forward to us and looks after our domain.
- Google Workspace: our email, if you write to us.
We also look things up on your behalf without sending your personal details: job boards and company careers pages receive only search terms such as job titles and places; web searches about employers include only the company’s name; and postcodes.io receives only a postcode or town to work out rough distances.
Data outside the UK
Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where your data leaves the UK, we rely on the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Your account and everything in it: until you delete your account.
- When you delete your account, your data is removed from our live systems straight away. Copies in our providers’ backups are deleted as those backups expire, normally within 30 days.
- Error reports and technical logs: up to 90 days.
- Usage records for our AI limits: kept only as anonymous totals once your account is deleted.
Your rights
You can:
- see and take your data: use “Download my data” on your Profile, or ask us;
- correct it: edit anything on your Profile, or ask us;
- delete it: use “Delete my account” on your Profile, or ask us;
- object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent for optional emails at any time.
We’ll reply within a month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please tell us first, and you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics.
Age
Plan Bee is for people aged 16 or over.
Changes
If we change this notice in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and let you know in the app or by email. You can also read our terms.
